$2 Holla equals Pure Debauchery!!!
Maaaaaan oh man do the folks at Suite #211 Collective know how to throw a Halloween party. The night was best put by style icon Momar aka Mopesci “Pure debauchery” at the $2 Holla-ween event this last Saturday in Fort Greene. I was dressed as Reverend Jagger Mcswagger but there were some folks who put in real work on their get ups. The music was bananas with selectors like Uncle Mike, Dj Sirak and Gordon Gatrell on the tables. Check out the flicks and see if you can find yourself.

A Kid named IAN from Brooklyn
I ran across a video interview while surfing my buddy Chay’s blog and there was this interview with a kid named Ian McGillivray. Ian is a artist/graphic designer who has created a project called “All American nightmares” which plays on Americas false image of wholesomeness, enjoy! The kids from Brooklyn;)

Rude Mechanical Orchestra
I may be sounding a little redundant but I fu**ing love living in Brooklyn because you see random stuff like a full out marching band bull dozing down the streets at any given time. I was coming out our office in Dumbo walking to my car a couple weeks back and I hear the thunderous sound of a marching band in the distance. Turning the corner slowly, I see a 30 piece marching band getting krunk in the middle of Jay st. like they were apart of the damn Florida A& M Rattlers or some sh*t. There were only about 4 people on the street as Dumbo is pretty industrial. I felt like they were playing just for me and my girlfriend who is natuarally a know-it-all anyway. She goes “Its the Rude Mechanical Orchestra” and of course I immediately hit the Tweets baby. I found this clip online it seems they just randomly play in the street for sh*ts & giggles, but also sometime address political fooey like the RNC during elections. I hope I run into these guys again soon:)
*Throwback Video* Michael Jackson’s Birthday Celebration in Prospect Park
We know this event was in the Summer but we wanted to share our experience with you. The Brooklyn Romance was on hand to celebrate Michael Jackson’s B-day in Prospect Park Brooklyn. This was one of those events where the emotion level was on ten the whole time. It just reminded us how lucky we are to be living in such an eclectic and diverse borough. Live long the king MJ!! Thanks to Jay Smooth from IllDoctrine.com for the interview. We’d like to thank Spike Lee & DJ Spinna for putting this together.
Thanks to Mike Garcia for edit.
Deity Supperclub launch=Success!
So, our buddy’s at DEITY had their official opening to launch their Supperclub last Thursday Oct.22nd. It was a huge success with many of Brooklyn’s movers & shakers in the building. The Borough president Marty Markowitz came through to bless the place and present owners Caio & Kristine with the official declaration. If any of you know the staff at DEITY they’re the most pleasant folks you’ll ever meet. We suggest you get your butt down to DEITY to try out their brand new supperclub menu and who knows maybe you’ll run into Barack himself next time:)
